About Chip

Chip Siegel trained as an economist before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in economics from Emory University in 1988 and took his J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1991. Those academic choices—numbers early, law later—inform a practical approach to legal work.

After law school, he entered private practice and has since been the lawyer at the Law Office of Chip Siegel, Esq. He operates a solo practice. That setup keeps him close to the everyday details of cases and to the clients who rely on him.

His undergraduate study in economics is a frequent touchstone. It helps when he evaluates contracts, considers risk, and explains options to clients in plain language. He draws on that analytical background to break complex issues into manageable parts.

Colleagues and clients describe his style as straightforward. He tends to favor direct explanation over legalese. He prepares documents, negotiates on behalf of clients, and appears when representation is needed. The work spans ordinary legal tasks that small businesses and individuals typically face.

Over the course of his career he has maintained a small, client-centered practice rather than joining a large firm. That choice gives him control over case selection and the way services are delivered. It also means he is often the primary point of contact for clients, handling both substantive work and practical questions about timing and costs.

Outside the office he has not sought public office or academic posts. Instead, his professional life remains focused on the practice itself: meeting clients, managing matters, and resolving disputes where possible. He keeps up with continuing legal education and the changes in the law that affect his clients.

In the current phase of his career he continues to run the Law Office of Chip Siegel, Esq. and to counsel and represent clients through that solo practice, providing legal services to individuals and businesses across a range of matters.
