About Chelsea

Chelsea Knox built her path into law through a steady academic track. She completed her undergraduate studies at Centre College in 2012 and earned her law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2017. Those years framed her legal training and set the stage for entry into practice in Tennessee.

After graduating in 2017, Knox joined Rice Caperton Rice. She began her professional life at that firm the same year she left law school. The early post-graduate role gave her hands-on exposure to firm-side practice and the day-to-day responsibilities that come with representing clients and managing casework within a law office environment.

Knox is licensed to practice in Tennessee. She has maintained ties to the legal community through professional membership, remaining involved in at least one association. That ongoing connection to peer groups and professional networks has been part of how she has stayed current with rules and practice developments in the state.

Her career to date reflects the kind of trajectory many lawyers follow after law school: classroom training followed by immediate entry into firm practice. Those initial years often involve a mix of research, drafting, client contact and courtroom work when matters proceed to hearing. Knox’s time at Rice Caperton Rice placed her within that rhythm and provided practical training that would inform later work.

Observers of legal careers will note that early firm experience frequently shapes the choices attorneys make about the types of matters they accept and the settings in which they work. Knox’s background positions her to serve clients in Tennessee and to draw on both her academic preparation and her formative firm experience when advising or representing individuals and organizations in state matters.

She remains a member of the professional community and practices in Tennessee. As of 2026 she maintains an active practice in the state, handling legal matters for clients in Tennessee courts and administrative settings.
