About Chad
Chad Piotrowski took a direct route into the criminal justice system. He completed a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science at Saint Joseph’s University in 1997 and earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 2003. While at Widener he received a Certificate of Achievement in Criminal Procedure, a credential that followed his early interest in courtroom work.
After law school Piotrowski entered public prosecution. By 2006 he was an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit. In that role he handled the daily demands of state-level practice: preparing cases, appearing in court and working with investigators, victims and law enforcement. The position required steady courtroom presence and routine case management in a busy urban jurisdiction.
In 2010 he shifted to private practice and founded Piotrowski Law. Since then he has operated as a criminal defense lawyer, representing clients across Florida. The move to private practice allowed him to take on a broader range of matters and to represent individuals at different stages of criminal proceedings. He appears in state courts and manages the procedural and strategic aspects of defense work on behalf of his clients.
Piotrowski’s education and early prosecutorial experience inform his approach. His Widener coursework and certificate in criminal procedure underpin how he constructs defenses and evaluates evidence. His undergraduate studies in criminal justice and political science provided a foundation in the institutions and rules that shape criminal cases.
Beyond courtroom work, Piotrowski maintains memberships in professional associations. Those affiliations connect him to peers and to continuing legal education opportunities. He has kept active ties to the legal community while running his firm and managing caseloads.
Clients and colleagues describe a practitioner who understands both sides of the criminal system. He has experience on the prosecutorial bench and now represents defendants, which gives him perspective on how cases move through arraignment, pretrial proceedings and trial. He continues to practice in Florida and to maintain Piotrowski Law as his principal office, handling matters that arise under state criminal statutes.
He currently practices criminal defense at Piotrowski Law in Florida, representing clients in state criminal matters.
