About Carey Wagner

Carey Wagner Meldon practices personal injury law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He joined the Florida Bar in 2006, starting a dedicated legal career focused on serving clients in need. As a founding member of Meldon Law, he emphasizes personal injury cases, DUI and DWI defense, and comprehensive legal services. His firm caters to clients not only in Broward County but also in surrounding areas, ensuring that those facing legal challenges receive the support they need. Meldon earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Stetson University College of Law in 2005. During his time at Stetson, he developed a strong foundation in trial advocacy and legal research—skills that have proven invaluable throughout his career.

Prior to his law degree, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from the College of William and Mary in 2001. This educational background equips him with critical analytical skills and a understanding of legal history, which he applies to his current practice. Most of Carey’s work involves representing clients in personal injury claims — These cases often include automobile accidents, slip and fall incidents, and medical malpractice. He meticulously guides clients through the details of the legal process—from initial consultations to negotiations with insurance companies. When necessary, he is prepared to take cases to court, advocating fiercely for his clients' rights. His commitment to thorough representation is evident in every aspect of his practice.

Before establishing Meldon Law, Carey served as an Assistant State Attorney in 2006. In that role, he gained invaluable courtroom experience, prosecuting various cases and developing a knowledge of both criminal and civil law. This background in state prosecution provides him with a unique perspective when defending clients against DUI charges. His firsthand experience in the courtroom allows him to navigate the legal system effectively, ensuring that his clients receive the best possible defense. Carey is an active member of several legal associations, including the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has previously held significant positions, such as Past Secretary of the Florida Traffic Court Rules Committee and Past President of the FACDL Eighth Judicial Circuit.

His involvement in these organizations keeps him informed about changes in the law and strengthens his advocacy for clients. Additionally, he is a member of the Florida Justice Association, the Broward County Bar Association, and the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association. Through his extensive network and active participation in the legal community, Carey continues to be a steadfast advocate for justice in Fort Lauderdale and throughout Florida.
