About Cameron

Cameron King studied business before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration and Management from Florida State University in 2012. He stayed at FSU for law school and received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2016. The trajectory is straightforward: undergraduate study in business, then three years of law school in Tallahassee.

King’s legal training included a mix of public and private placements. In 2014 he served as a law clerk in the Office of the Lawyer General. He spent 2015 as a legal intern with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2016 he took on a certified legal intern role in the State Lawyer’s Office for the 2nd Judicial Circuit. Those early roles gave him exposure to government practice and client-side legal work before he moved into full-time public service.

He began his prosecutorial career in 2016 at the State Lawyer’s Office for the 6th Judicial Circuit. There he worked on criminal matters for the state. The experience placed him in court regularly and required coordination with law enforcement, victims, and court staff. Working as a prosecutor offered repeated opportunities to try cases and to handle the procedural demands of the criminal justice system.

After several years in the public sector, King moved into private defense work. In 2020 he joined a local private defense firm as a criminal defense lawyer. That period marked a shift from representing the state to representing individuals. The change allowed him to approach cases from the other side of the courtroom and to apply his courtroom experience to client advocacy.

He later became a criminal defense lawyer at King Law Group, P.A. The firm is listed as his current office. He holds memberships in the West Pasco Bar Association and the Clearwater Bar Association, aligning him with local bar activities and the professional community in Florida. He is licensed to practice in Florida.

Colleagues and clients describe him as thorough in preparation and steady under pressure. He favors direct communication and practical problem solving when advising clients. He combines courtroom experience from his time as a prosecutor with the defensive strategies he developed in private practice. He currently focuses on criminal defense at King Law Group, P.A.
