About Bruce
Bruce Sharp earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2006. He moved into work that combined legal training and practical land work. That early mix of law and title work shaped the trajectory of his career.
Shortly after law school he gained on-the-ground experience as a title examination landman at Vernon L. Smith & Associates in 2004. He later worked as a title abstractor for T. S. Dudley and for Petroland in 2009. Those roles involved hands-on review of land records and chains of title. In 2009 he also practiced as a lawyer with Walker, Walker & Sharp P.C., which broadened his exposure to legal practice in Oklahoma and Texas.
In 2011 Sharp began practicing at SharpCounsel Law P.C. He has balanced traditional legal tasks with practical title work. His background includes examining public records, tracing title histories and preparing title-related documentation. That combination of skills has informed how he approaches client matters and problem solving.
Colleagues and clients often describe his work as detail-oriented. He is attentive to the kind of record examination and document review that quietly determine whether a transaction can move forward. He has worked on matters that require parsing old deeds, easements and recorded encumbrances. Those tasks demand patience and an eye for small discrepancies.
Sharp is admitted to practice in both Texas and Oklahoma. He has moved between roles in abstracting and law practice, and that movement has given him a practical view of how title issues affect transactions and litigation alike. He now works out of SharpCounsel Law, P.C., handling matters that stem from his years of title and land experience. He currently practices at SharpCounsel Law, P.C., where his work centers on title and land matters.
