Bruce P. Jeffer is a corporate attorney admitted to practice law in California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1968. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Jeffer is a founding member and managing partner of Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, a full-service law firm located in Los Angeles, California. He has been practicing law for over 58 years, serving clients throughout Southern California and beyond.
Mr. Jeffer earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School in 1967. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Yale University and the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964. During his time at UCLA, he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, reflecting his academic excellence.
Mr. Jeffer concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, energy transactions, and federal and state securities transactions, including all forms of tax-advantaged investments. He represents a diverse clientele, including oil and gas companies, financial institutions, entertainment companies, retailers, restaurants, nonprofits, and various forms of partnerships and limited partnerships. His practice encompasses all stages of legal work, including negotiations, litigation, and compliance matters.
Throughout his career, Mr. Jeffer has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Jeffer is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He holds membership in the American Bar Association's Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. He has been recognized in the 2026 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America and has been profiled in publications such as the Daily Journal, Of Counsel, and the Los Angeles Business Journal.
