About Bruce E.

Bruce E. Ingerman graduated from New York University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science and earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1969. Those formative years set the course for a long legal career based in Maryland. He entered the profession at a time when the legal landscape was changing rapidly, and he built practice experience that spans multiple decades.

After completing law school, Ingerman began practicing in Maryland. He worked in private practice and took on matters typical for a general practitioner of his generation. Over time his practice evolved to address the needs of individuals and organizations in the state. He developed familiarity with courtroom procedure, transactional work, and client counseling through sustained practice rather than a single specialty path.

In 1990 he became a partner at Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP. That move placed him in a leadership role at a firm bearing his name. As partner he handled client matters, advised on case strategy, and participated in the day-to-day business of running a law office. The partnership marked a long-term professional base from which he continued to serve Maryland clients.

Throughout his career Ingerman handled a mix of litigation and transactional matters. He represented clients in state-level proceedings and worked on agreements and negotiations outside the courtroom when cases did not require litigation. His caseload over the years has reflected the kinds of problems businesses and private clients bring to a regional law firm—disputes, contracts, and regulatory questions presented under Maryland law.

Colleagues and clients have encountered Ingerman in courtrooms, conference rooms, and settlement sessions. He has practiced through changing procedural rules and evolving legal standards. Those changes shaped how he approached client problems and how the firm responded to shifting legal and business climates.

Ingerman is admitted to practice in Maryland and has maintained his practice in the state. As a lawyer whose career began in the late 1960s, he brings long institutional memory to current matters. He has worked alongside several generations of lawyers and staff during his time at Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP.

As of 2026 he continues his practice at Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP in Maryland, where his work centers on representing clients in state matters and providing counsel on disputes and transactions.
