About Britt N.
Britt N. Burner earned a B.A. in human development from Boston College in 2003 and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2008. She began her working life studying people and communities, then moved into law where she found a steady connection between individual needs and legal structure. Her education laid a practical foundation for the kind of client work she would take on later.
Her early legal roles placed her inside both big-firm and public-service environments. She began at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in 2008. The next year she served as a Special Assistant at the Kings County District Lawyer's Office. That mix of private and public practice gave her exposure to litigation and client counseling in different contexts. In 2010 she joined Nancy Burner & Associates, P.C. as an associate lawyer, and two years later she moved to Goldfarb Abrandt Salzman & Kutzin LLP.
In 2014 she became an associate lawyer with the Burner Law Group, P.C., a move that aligned her work more directly with elder law and related practice areas. In 2022 she took partnership at Burner Prudenti Law, P.C. and has been listed there as a partner since. Over the years she has navigated transitions between firms and roles while keeping a steady focus on issues affecting older adults and families.
Burner has been active in professional associations for much of her career. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Law Section and has been involved in the association’s Elder Law and Special Needs Planning section since 2008. She served on executive committees and as production editor in various NYSBA roles. In 2022 she served as secretary of the Elder Law and Special Needs Planning section, became vice chair that same year, and was elected chair in 2024. She chaired the New York City Bar Association Committee on the Legal Problems of the Aging from 2008 to 2021. She is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and has held a BNI membership since 2016.
Her practice covers elder law, special needs planning and trusts and estates. She works with individuals and families on planning and administration matters that affect older adults and people with disabilities. Her background includes both procedural work and long-term planning.
She is a partner at Burner Prudenti Law, P.C. and practices in New York. Her current practice focuses on elder law, special needs planning and trusts and estates matters.
