About Victor M.

Victor M. Feraru built his legal training at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he earned a J.D. in 2018. His time in law school included a mix of courtroom exposure and editorial work that shaped his early approach to practice.

While still a student he took on a string of federal externships that placed him inside the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. He worked as an extern to Senior Judge J. Phil Gilbert in 2017 and to Judge Staci M. Yandle in both 2016 and 2018. Those placements offered sustained contact with federal procedure and the rhythms of litigation in trial courts.

Beyond the federal courthouse, Feraru served as a law clerk in the Union County State's Attorney's Office in 2017 and participated in Illinois’ efforts around child welfare through a 2016 appointment to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services’ Children’s Justice Task Force. He also worked as an online editor and assistant for the American Bar Association Law Student Division in 2016, and contributed pieces as a freelance writer for The Huffington Post beginning in 2012. Those assignments broadened his perspective on legal communication and policy work.

After graduation he continued to cultivate professional ties. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2016 and joined both the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Federal Bar Association in 2020. Those memberships reflect interests in immigration issues and federal practice, and they connect his office to national professional networks.

Feraru is admitted to practice in New York. He founded the Law Office of Victor M. Feraru to provide direct counsel to individuals and institutions that require representation in immigration matters and federal court. The office handles case intake, filings, and courtroom appearances, and works to align procedural strategy with statutory and regulatory requirements.

His path from law student extern to solo practitioner shows a steady accumulation of courtroom experience and policy work. He has combined clerkships, public sector work, editorial roles, and association activity into a practice that addresses immigration and federal litigation. He concentrates his practice on immigration matters and litigation in federal court in New York.
