About Brian Neil

Brian Neil Hoffman earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law. He studied law in a setting known for rigorous coursework and a wide range of clinical and doctrinal offerings. The training at NYU shaped his analytical approach and exposed him to diverse legal problems early in his career.

After law school, Hoffman entered private practice and developed experience handling a variety of legal matters for corporate and individual clients. He has worked on transactional matters, negotiated agreements, and been involved in dispute resolution. His experience includes counseling clients through complex factual and legal questions, preparing written submissions, and participating in negotiations and settlements.

Hoffman’s work blends written advocacy and problem-solving. He spends substantial time drafting and reviewing documents, assessing legal risk, and advising on procedural strategy. He favors clear, direct writing and practical recommendations tailored to a client’s objectives. His day-to-day work often requires translating technical or commercial issues into legal terms that inform decision-making.

Colleagues describe him as methodical and deliberate. He approaches matters by breaking problems into manageable pieces and prioritizing the actions likely to achieve a client’s goals. That approach informs both preventive advice and responses to active disputes. Across matters, he places importance on thorough preparation and on communicating options and trade-offs in plain terms.

Hoffman has worked with a range of clients, including businesses of varying sizes. He adapts his approach to the scale and resources of the client. For larger corporate matters, he coordinates with in-house counsel and other outside advisors. For smaller clients, he focuses on practical solutions that respect budgetary constraints while addressing core legal risks.

Outside client work, he keeps current on developments in relevant areas of law that affect his practice. He follows court opinions and regulatory changes and integrates new authorities into client advice as appropriate. He aims to provide guidance that helps clients reduce uncertainty and make informed choices under pressure.

He is currently an attorney at Holland & Hart LLP. He practices at the firm and concentrates on advising clients on complex legal matters in both transactional and dispute settings.
