About Brian
Brian Fletcher built a career that moves between metal and case law. He began in engineering and submarines, returned to technical graduate study, and later earned a law degree that shifted his work toward patents and appellate work.
He earned a B.S. in engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1979. Several years later he completed an M.S. in information systems at George Washington University—Virginia Campus in 1995. He then pursued legal training at The George Washington University Law School and received his J.D. in 2006.
After the Naval Academy, Fletcher served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear-trained submarine officer. That early service gave him practical engineering experience under pressure. It also framed the technical side of his later work in intellectual property.
Fletcher moved into the patent world in the early 2000s. Records show he worked as a patent agent and lawyer at Morrison & Foerster LLP in 2004.
