About Brian C.
Brian C. Shuck built his legal foundation at the University of Wyoming, earning a law degree from the College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming. He entered the public sector early in his career and spent several years in state service before moving into private practice.
Shuck began in the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, serving as an Assistant and then Senior Assistant Attorney General starting in 1998. He took on a role as Special Assistant Attorney General in 2000 and also worked as an associate at Dray, Thomson & Dyekman, P.C. that same year. Those years in the public attorney general’s office gave him steady exposure to state regulatory and litigation matters.
In 2002 he opened his own firm, the Law Office of Brian C. Shuck, P.C., taking on principal responsibilities for client work and firm management. In 2013 his name appears in association with Shuck | Kuker LLC. He has also served in political legal roles; in 2019 he accepted the position of General Counsel to the Wyoming Republican Party, a post he continues to hold.
Over time Shuck has maintained ties to organizations active in agriculture, water and energy issues. He holds memberships in the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation, the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, the Colorado River Water Users Association, and the Wyoming Water Users Association. He has been involved in bar committees and study groups as well, including a decade-long stint as chairman of the Wyoming State Bar’s Lien Statute Study Committee from 2001 to 2010 and membership on the Wyoming State Bar CLE Committee in the early 2000s.
His service record includes local bar involvement and civic roles. He has been a member of the Laramie County Bar Association and served as treasurer for the Campbell County Bar Association in the mid-1990s. He also served as treasurer of the Cheyenne Berean Church from 2000 to 2004. In 2009 he was appointed to the Legislature’s Joint Judiciary Committee lien study task force.
Shuck is licensed to practice in Wyoming, the Ninth Circuit, and in the Shoshone and Arapahoe Tribal Court. His practice reflects that background: he regularly handles matters that intersect government, water and natural resources, agriculture and related commercial issues. He continues to practice through the Law Office of Brian C. Shuck, P.C., while serving as general counsel to the Wyoming Republican Party.
