About Matthew A
Matthew A Walker grew up interested in how people think and why they make certain choices. He followed that interest to the University of Wyoming, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2013. He then stayed in Laramie to attend the University of Wyoming College of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2016. Those years on campus shaped his approach to law. He learned to weigh facts carefully and to explain complex ideas in plain language.
He began his legal career in the Wyoming Eighth Judicial District Court shortly after law school. As a staff lawyer there in 2016, he handled research and drafting that supported judges and helped the court manage a steady docket. The work gave him a close look at courtroom procedure and case management. It also provided early experience in legal writing under tight deadlines.
In 2019 he moved into private practice with The Advocates. That role expanded the scope of his work. He took on client counseling, contested hearings, and negotiation. He handled matters that required both courtroom poise and the patience to guide clients through lengthy processes. In 2021 he joined Olsen Legal Group, LLC, where he continued to work on similar matters and refined his case strategy skills.
In 2024 he founded Walker Law, LLP. The firm is a small practice anchored in Wyoming. Walker draws on years in both the public and private sides of the law. He is a current member of the Wyoming State Bar and maintains active involvement in the state’s legal community.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and direct. He favors clear explanations over legalese. Clients say he listens and then explains options rather than promising quick fixes. His background in psychology often informs how he approaches client interviews and negotiation. He tends to break complex problems into manageable steps and sets expectations early in a case.
On the bench, in private firms, and now at his own practice, Walker has worked steadily since earning his J.D. He has moved through roles that exposed him to research, litigation, negotiation, and client advocacy. The arc of his career shows a steady accumulation of practical courtroom and office experience. He currently practices at Walker Law, LLP, handling civil matters and advising clients in state courts within Wyoming.
