Brian Arnold Vogel is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Vogel is the principal attorney at the Law Offices of Brian A. Vogel, P.C., located at 770 County Square Dr., Suite 104, Ventura, CA 93003. He has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout Ventura County and the broader Southern California region.
Mr. Vogel earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California, graduating in 1993. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate studies at Wesleyan University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree. During his time at Loyola Law School, he gained practical experience through his role as a deputy public defender at the Ventura County Public Defender’s Office, where he was the lead attorney in numerous jury trials, including felony cases.
Mr. Vogel's practice areas encompass criminal defense, civil rights, and personal injury law. He has represented clients in a wide range of criminal cases, from capital murder to driving under the influence. In civil rights, he has handled cases involving excessive force by law enforcement, wrongful arrest, and unlawful searches and seizures. His personal injury practice includes representing victims of auto and motorcycle accidents, as well as dog bites. His work spans all stages of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Vogel has been admitted to practice before several courts, including the California State Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has been recognized for his contributions to the legal field, receiving the Ventura County Criminal Defense Bar Association's Richard Erwin Award in 2002, which is equivalent to "Trial Lawyer of the Year." He has also been selected to Super Lawyers for 2021-2023.
Mr. Vogel is an active member of the Ventura County Criminal Defense Bar Association, serving as its president during the 2013-2014 term. He is also a member of the National Police Accountability Project and has participated as a judge in the 2007 National Civil Trial Advocacy Competition held at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He is fluent in English and Spanish, enabling him to effectively serve the diverse communities of Ventura County.
