About Brandon

Brandon Poticny built a path to the law that began outside a courtroom. He studied business at Auburn University and worked as a student firefighter while in college. He then went on to law school and earned his J.D. from Birmingham School of Law in 2014.

Poticny's early work included a stint as a law clerk at Crittenden Partners in 2010. That position provided front-line exposure to legal work and courtroom preparation. After graduating, he entered private practice and by 2015 he was an associate attorney at Huff Smith Law, LLC. The role expanded his experience in case work and client interaction.

In 2016 Poticny opened his own practice, The Poticny Firm. Running a small firm required handling a broad mix of tasks: case strategy, client intake, file management and the business side of a law office. He spent several years steering that practice and representing clients across matters that came through the firm.

By 2021 Poticny joined Davis, Bingham, Hudson & Buckner, P.C. as a lawyer. That move placed him in a larger firm environment and in a team setting where cases are often handled collaboratively. His resume lists practice and courtroom roles across multiple settings, from solo practice to firm teams. He is admitted to practice law in Alabama.

Throughout his career Poticny has balanced litigation work with the day-to-day demands of managing client expectations. He has engaged in pretrial work, client counseling, drafting pleadings and negotiating settlements. His background in business from Auburn University informs how he approaches cases that involve commercial or entrepreneurial elements. The early experience as a student firefighter is part of the practical background he brings to the job: it taught him to respond to urgent situations and to work under pressure.

Colleagues describe Poticny as practical and straightforward in his courtroom approach. He has moved between roles that require independence and those that require coordination with partners and support staff. That range of settings has shaped how he assesses risk and prepares for trial or settlement discussions.

Poticny continues to practice at Davis, Bingham, Hudson & Buckner, P.C., where his work centers on representing clients in matters that reflect his combined business and litigation experience.
