About Brandon L
Brandon L Newberry built his practice around one area of law: veterans disability. He left law school with a clear purpose and has spent his early career helping veterans navigate claims and appeals.
Newberry attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law, beginning studies in 2018 and earning his J.D. in 2021. Law school years introduced him to the procedural complexity of veterans benefits and to the administrative processes that can determine an applicant’s livelihood.
After law school he entered practice at Pinyerd Disability Law, LLC. Hired in 2022 as a VA lawyer, he worked on a steady stream of claims. He handled regional office submissions and helped prepare appeals. The role exposed him to the practical steps required to move cases through the VA system and, when necessary, up to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
In 2024 Newberry opened Newberry VA Disability, LLC and took on the additional responsibilities of firm owner. Building a small practice meant shifting between client intake, case development and courtroom preparation. He continued representing veterans on claims for service-connected disabilities, filing appeals, and preparing evidence to support medical nexus and that a condition is related to service.
He is licensed in Indiana and admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He also handles matters that involve the Department of Veterans Affairs. His work combines administrative advocacy before VA regional offices with appellate briefing when cases require review at the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Colleagues describe Newberry as methodical in case preparation. He breaks down medical records and Veterans Administration opinions into clear issues that can be addressed on appeal. He has experience drafting Statements of the Case and substantive appellate briefs, and he regularly prepares clients for hearings before VA adjudicators and for testimony at remand proceedings.
Newberry keeps his practice lean and client-focused. He works directly with veterans and their families, often guiding clients through document collection and coordinating medical opinions when necessary. He maintains professional memberships that connect him to peers who practice veterans law nationwide.
He currently represents veterans in disability claims and appeals through Newberry VA Disability, LLC.
