About Bradley C
Bradley C Ratliff built a career at the intersection of rehabilitation services and the law. He pursued undergraduate study in organizational management and development at Bluefield College, earned a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed his J.D. at Appalachian School of Law in 2006. Those credentials shaped an early professional rhythm that combined client assessment, vocational work and courtroom procedure.
His first roles after graduate school were in vocational rehabilitation. He served as vice president and vocational rehabilitation counselor at Rehabilitation & Job Placement Services, Inc., and later became regional director for Career Support Systems, Inc. Those positions involved overseeing placement programs and managing client services across a region. He then shifted into law, clerking for the Honorable Teresa M. Chafin at Tazewell County Circuit Court in 2006. The clerkship offered direct exposure to trial dockets and judicial decision-making.
After his clerkship he entered private practice. In 2007 he joined Bolling-Hearl-Ratliff as a partner attorney. In 2013 he became president and lawyer at The Reliance Law Group, which was formerly known as The Ratliff Law Office. Over the years he has maintained registrations that allow him to appear before the Fourth Circuit and to practice in Virginia.
Ratliff’s professional affiliations reflect recurring themes in his work. He has been a member of the Local Government Lawyers Association since 2010. He joined the National Trial Lawyers Association in 2016 and is listed among its Top 100. He also holds memberships in the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Lawyers and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, joining those organizations in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Locally, he has taken on leadership roles, including serving as president of the Cedar Bluff Business & Professional Association since 2018.
Colleagues and clients see a lawyer whose background in rehabilitation informs how he approaches client intake and case planning. He applies administrative and placement experience to matters that involve older clients, local government entities and litigated disputes. His practice blends courtroom work and elder-law matters, and he continues to handle cases in state and federal venues.
He currently practices at The Reliance Law Group and concentrates on elder law, local government matters and civil litigation.
