About Brad Victor
Brad Victor Shuttleworth took a conventional route into law but has built a career that crosses teaching, clerking and private practice. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Drexel University in 2000 and graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2004. Those two institutions anchor both his academic credentials and his later ties to legal education.
His early career contained a mix of teaching and court work. In 2002 he served as an adjunct professor at Drexel’s LeBow College of Business, an early foray into the classroom. After law school he worked as a judicial law clerk for the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County in 2004. The clerkship offered close exposure to trial procedure and written opinions, experience that informed his subsequent practice.
Shuttleworth moved quickly into private practice. He founded Shuttleworth Law, LLC in 2005. He later practiced at Alva & Shuttleworth, LLC in 2009. In 2017 he returned to Temple as an adjunct professor of law at the James E. Beasley School of Law, teaching while maintaining an active practice. In 2021 he re-established Shuttleworth Law and has led the firm since then.
His admissions cover both state and federal forums. He is admitted in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in a range of trial and appellate settings across the two states.
Professional memberships reflect a practice grounded in litigation and court work. He holds memberships in the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the American Bar Association. The combination of trial-oriented organizations and bar association work is consistent with a lawyer who spends time in courtrooms and stays connected to local legal communities.
Shuttleworth’s career balances courtroom practice and legal education. He has moved between running a private firm, serving as a clerk, and teaching at two universities. That mix informs how he prepares cases and how he mentors younger lawyers and students. He concentrates his practice on matters in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
