Bohdan S. Kosovych is the principal attorney at Kosovych Law Firm, PLLC, located at 691 Delafield Avenue, Staten Island, New York, 10310. With over four decades of legal experience, he specializes in business and real estate law. Mr. Kosovych earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 1981. Since then, he has built a distinguished career, marked by significant roles in both corporate and private practice settings. After graduating, Mr. Kosovych began his legal journey at Woolworth Corporation, where he served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary for 16 years.
During his tenure from 1981 to 1997, he oversaw various real estate transactions across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Mexico. His responsibilities included supervising the Real Estate Section of the company's Law Department, which provided him with experience in complex real estate matters. This role laid the foundation for his future endeavors in private practice. In 1996, Mr. Kosovych transitioned to private practice, joining Sills, Cummis, Zuckerman, Radin, Tischman, Epstein & Gross as an Associate in the Real Estate Department. His expertise quickly became evident, leading him to become Senior Counsel at Sussman Sollis Ebin Tweedy & Wood, LLP in 1997. From 2007 to 2010, he further developed his skills as an attorney at Thompson & Knight LLP. Each of these positions contributed to his extensive knowledge in corporate, business, and commercial real estate matters, ultimately culminating in the establishment of Kosovych Law Firm, PLLC in 2011.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Kosovych is actively involved in his community. He is a member of the North Shore Rotary Club of Staten Island, where he has served as Club Secretary and Past President. His contributions to the Rotary Foundation have earned him recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow, highlighting his commitment to community service and philanthropy. His firm continues to thrive, focusing on areas such as construction and development, commercial real estate, and general real estate law. Residing in Staten Island, New York, Mr. Kosovych shares his life with his wife, Mariann. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April 2021, a milestone that reflects their enduring partnership.
They have three daughters, one of whom has proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years. The family also enjoys the company of a grandson. Mr. Kosovych has been licensed to practice law in New York since 1982, and he currently maintains an unblemished record with no reported misconduct.
