About Blake Younger
Blake Younger Boyette built his legal foundations at the University of Virginia, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 2008. He continued his studies at the University of Richmond School of Law and received his J.D. in 2011. Those years framed his interest in court procedure and the practical work of advising clients facing financial distress.
After law school he entered private practice in the region and concentrated his work on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Over time his caseload came to include both individual debtors and business clients. He practices in the state courts and the bankruptcy courts that serve Virginia and North Carolina. His work ranges from routine filings to contested matters where negotiations and litigation intersect.
Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as steady at hearings and deliberate in preparation. He earned a professional credential from the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization. That certification names him a Specialist in Consumer and Business Bankruptcy and marks a recognized level of experience in that area of law.
Boyette handles the everyday tasks that bankruptcy practice requires: counseling clients about options, preparing required filings, and standing for them at creditor meetings and contested hearings. He also engages in consumer protection issues that commonly arise alongside insolvency matters, and he works on creditor-side questions when those matters present themselves. The practice demands attention to statutory detail and to changing local procedures; he keeps current with both.
Across two state bars, he represents people and enterprises at different phases of financial distress. His practice covers counseling before a filing, case administration during the bankruptcy process, and post-bankruptcy concerns when discharge or reorganization issues arise. He has experience in negotiating with creditors, drafting plans and settlements, and addressing issues that can affect a client's ability to reorganize or obtain relief.
Outside courtrooms, he has served clients through client interviews, case strategy sessions and drafts of complex pleadings. He is known for an even-handed approach in client communications and for prioritizing clarity when explaining options. As of 2026 he is licensed to practice in both Virginia and North Carolina and practices bankruptcy law across those jurisdictions, representing individuals and businesses on insolvency and related matters.
