About Benjamin T.

Benjamin T. Cochran serves as managing partner at Hardison & Cochran Lawyers at Law and practices in North Carolina. He is a familiar presence in workers’ compensation matters across the state. His role combines casework, courtroom appearances and the administrative demands of running a firm.

Cochran’s academic path began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a B.A. in 1999, double-majoring in Economics and African American Studies. He went on to receive his J.D. from Campbell Law School in 2002. Those years framed his approach to law: an interest in economic and social context paired with professional legal training.

After law school Cochran moved into practice in North Carolina. Over time he assumed greater leadership responsibilities and now holds the title of managing partner at Hardison & Cochran Lawyers at Law. In that capacity he oversees case strategy, supervises colleagues and coordinates the firm’s daily operations. He also remains personally involved in client matters.

He holds board certification as a specialist in North Carolina workers’ compensation law from the North Carolina State Bar. That credential marks a formal recognition of his work in the area. His practice routinely involves claims before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, negotiations with insurers, and counsel on benefits and appeals. He represents individuals in the administrative and litigation phases that follow workplace injuries.

Colleagues describe him as steady in hearings and methodical in preparing claims. He tends to combine written advocacy with in-person representation. That mix reflects the procedural and evidentiary demands of workers’ compensation cases, where hearings, depositions and medical documentation all play a role.

Outside of casework he handles the managerial duties of a mid-size practice. That includes mentoring younger attorneys and helping shape firm policies. He maintains professional ties within the state’s legal community and participates in activities that support the practice of law in North Carolina.

Cochran continues to practice workers’ compensation law in North Carolina as managing partner at Hardison & Cochran Lawyers at Law.
