About Winston S.

Winston S. Kirby grew up in North Carolina and followed a straightforward academic path into the law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. He then attended Campbell Law School, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2015.

After law school, Kirby moved into private practice in the state. He built experience through courtroom work and bar association involvement. Over the years he has balanced client representation with roles inside local legal organizations.

Kirby maintains memberships in several professional groups that connect him to the region’s bench and bar. He is a current member of the Tenth Judicial District Bar. He also belongs to The North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the Wake County Bar Association. Those memberships give him regular contact with peers and judges across multiple counties.

Colleagues describe Kirby as methodical in court and deliberate when preparing cases. He approaches filings and hearings with a paperwork-first mentality, making sure the record is clear. That approach has shaped how he handles deadlines and discovery, and it informs how he briefs matters for judges.

At Edwards Kirby, LLP he works alongside other lawyers in a shared practice environment. His day-to-day work involves counseling clients, preparing pleadings and appearing in court. He also participates in bar-sponsored continuing legal education and local committee meetings.

Outside the office, Kirby spends time on issues that touch the legal community. He attends local bar events and contributes to discussions about court procedure and practice trends. Those activities keep him connected to changes in court rules and litigation practice.

Practical and procedural concerns guide his work. He pays attention to case timelines, evidentiary details and trial preparation. Those elements shape how he evaluates client matters and develops strategies.

He now practices at Edwards Kirby, LLP, where his work centers on representing clients in North Carolina courts.
