About Benjamin J.
Benjamin J. Sansone grew up studying numbers and law. He earned a BSBA from the University of Tulsa in 1999 and completed his JD at St. Louis University in 2002. Those years set the foundation for a courtroom career that has centered on trial work in state and federal tribunals.
Soon after law school he began practicing in the Midwest. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Illinois and holds admissions to the Federal Circuit and the Eighth Circuit. Those credentials have allowed him to move between trial and appellate settings when cases demand appellate review after trials in lower courts.
For much of his career he has been identified as a trial lawyer at Sansone & Lauber. The firm listing describes him in that role and he remains active there. His work at the firm has involved managing cases at trial stages, preparing witnesses and evidence, and taking matters into the courtroom when settlement is not reached.
He has maintained ties to professional organizations throughout his career. He has been a sustaining member of the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers since 2004. He also joined the American Association for Justice in 2004. His Illinois Bar Association membership dates to 2003, and he has been involved with Missouri county bar associations since 2002. Those memberships have kept him visible in local and national trial-law circles and connected to developments in courtroom practice and procedure.
Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as methodical in trial preparation. He balances detailed case work with time in court. Trials require attention to evidence and to the cadence of a case as it unfolds, and that combination of preparation and courtroom presence marks his work. He represents clients in state and federal court settings and handles matters that proceed through trial and, when necessary, appeal.
Outside the courtroom his schedule has included client meetings, motion practice, and appellate filings when cases move beyond trial. He has navigated filings in the Eighth Circuit and the Federal Circuit when appellate issues arose.
He continues to practice at Sansone & Lauber. His current practice focuses on trial advocacy in Missouri, Illinois, and federal courts, including appeals before the Federal Circuit and the Eighth Circuit.
