About Benjamin

Benjamin Herbst earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2007 after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Michigan in 2003. He moved from classroom to courtroom readiness during those years, sharpening research and advocacy skills that would define his practice. The academic arc at two well-regarded schools provided a foundation in legal doctrine and public affairs, and it set the stage for a regional practice that now spans state and federal courts.

He began his professional journey after law school and gathered experience that led to a leadership role at The Herbst Firm. Over time he took on increasing responsibility at the firm and now serves as a partner. That title reflects both management duties and a continuing role in client work. Colleagues describe him as steady in the office and exacting in legal preparation; clients expect thorough attention to procedural detail and court filings.

Herbst maintains active membership in the Florida and Maryland bars. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in matters that cross state lines and to appear in federal court when cases require it. He divides professional energy between matters arising in Maryland and Florida, and he often coordinates filings and hearings across jurisdictions when cases involve parties in both states.

His courtroom experience includes appearances in state and federal settings. He handles case management, pretrial strategy and courtroom advocacy when disputes proceed to hearings or trials. On the administrative side he participates in firm decision-making and mentorship of junior lawyers, drawing on more than a decade and a half of practice since completing law school.

Outside of casework, Herbst keeps a practical approach to professional development. He follows evolving procedural law and stays engaged with bar activities that affect litigation practice. His education in political science informs how he frames legal questions for clients and judges, and it helps him parse statutory and regulatory issues when they arise.

Today he works from The Herbst Firm office and maintains an active practice across Florida and Maryland, including appearances in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. He concentrates his practice on matters that require representation in both state and federal forums and on coordinating litigation strategy across the two states.
