About B. Kristian W Rasmussen
B. Kristian W Rasmussen III earned his undergraduate degree from The Citadel and later attended the Naval War College before completing his law degree at Mississippi College School of Law in 1999. Those years of study combined a military-influenced curriculum and traditional legal training. They set the stage for a career that moved between trial work and organizational leadership.
After law school, Rasmussen built a practice that spans both Alabama and Florida. He is admitted to practice in those two states and has spent his career handling complex civil litigation. He founded Rasmussen Law Office, LLC and serves as the firm’s managing partner. The firm handles cases in state and federal courts and reflects the kind of trial-first approach Rasmussen pursued early in his career.
Rasmussen’s courtroom work has included large group litigation and pharmaceutical cases. He has been active in litigation surrounding drugs such as Chantix and Vioxx/Cox-2, serving in leadership roles in national plaintiff groups. Within the American Association for Justice he chaired the Chantix Litigation Group and formerly co-chaired the Vioxx/Cox-2 Litigation Group. Those roles required coordinating among lawyers in multiple jurisdictions and helping to develop case strategy and common discovery approaches.
Outside of specific product litigation, Rasmussen is active in the professional community. He sits on the Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida’s First Judicial Circuit. He holds memberships in the Florida Justice Association and the Alabama Association for Justice, and he participates in local bar groups including the Birmingham Bar Association and the Escambia/Santa Rosa County Bar Association. He is also involved with the First Judicial Circuit Trial Lawyers Association. The array of associations reflects steady engagement in the trial bar and in regional judicial processes.
Colleagues describe Rasmussen as someone who moves between the details of a single case and the logistical demands of coordinating larger multi-plaintiff efforts. He balances courtroom practice with administrative duties at his firm. He remains active in continuing education and in professional committees that shape litigation strategy and court appointments.
Today Rasmussen continues to lead Rasmussen Law Office, LLC from its offices while representing plaintiffs in civil litigation across Alabama and Florida. His current practice focuses on complex civil cases and multi-party pharmaceutical litigation.
