About B. J.
B. J. Richardson holds a J.D. from Saint Louis University and an LL.M. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Those degrees framed the early legal training that led to a steady progression into law office leadership and private practice.
Richardson moved into practice management early in their career. In 2004 they served as managing lawyer at The Courtney Law Office, where they handled daily firm operations and supervised case preparation. That role placed Richardson at the intersection of client service and office administration, sharpening skills in budgeting, staff oversight and case allocation.
In 2013 Richardson opened The Law Offices of BJ Richardson, LLC and assumed ownership and lawyer duties. Establishing a private firm required shifting from a supervisory role inside another office to building processes, managing client intake and directing litigation and transactional work under their own banner. The move reflects a transition from managing firm systems to running them as principal.
Outside the office Richardson has been active in local professional networks. Since 2014 they have served as Vice President of Business Networking International’s Springfield Business Connections chapter. That ongoing role includes organizing meetings, fostering referrals among local professionals and representing the chapter in community gatherings. The position adds a civic and business-facing dimension to Richardson’s work as an attorney.
Richardson is admitted to practice in Missouri. Over the years they have combined academic credentials and practical experience to handle both client-facing matters and the internal demands of maintaining a law office.
