About Austin
Austin Claiborne graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2020 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in criminology at the University of Florida in 2017. He finished law school as the pandemic was reshaping practice, but he entered the profession with steady practical experience already on his résumé. Those early experiences informed how he approached litigation and client work once he moved into full-time roles.
His first legal position after law school was as an associate at Bogin, Munns & Munns in 2020. He had already tested the courtroom and office environment during law school, working as a law clerk for Carli Law, PLLC in 2019 and serving as a certified legal intern for the Office of the Public Defender in 2020. In 2021 he took an associate post at Farah and Farah and later that year accepted the title of Chief Litigation Counsel at The Law Offices of Duane E. Thomas. The sequence shows a rapid progression into roles with greater responsibility.
Colleagues describe Claiborne as pragmatic in approach. He brings litigation tasks from the early assessment stage through preparation for trial. He has worked on pretrial motion practice, witness preparation and discovery management. Those duties reflect the responsibilities commonly associated with a chief litigation role, and they form the practical backbone of his day-to-day work. He handles the procedural and tactical tasks that move cases forward.
Outside of firm roles, Claiborne has maintained bar and local association memberships. He is a current member of The Florida Bar and has served as communications director for the Young Lawyers Division of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association since 2021. That post has involved producing materials for the division, coordinating outreach and managing internal communications, work that intersects with both practice and professional service.
Claiborne’s career path has been concise and practice-oriented: solid academic credentials, early hands-on internships and law clerk positions, then a series of associate roles leading to his current litigation leadership post. He practices in Florida and handles litigation matters at The Law Offices of Duane E. Thomas.
