About Fred
Fred Koberlein earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 2003. He moved into hands-on court work early. A 2003 internship with the Third Judicial Circuit gave him a front-row view of trial practice and courtroom procedure.
After law school he joined the Office of the Public Defender in the Third Judicial Circuit as an assistant public defender in 2004. That role placed him regularly in criminal court, handling arraignments, pretrial litigation and trial work on behalf of clients who could not afford private counsel. The experience shaped his understanding of criminal defense and courtroom advocacy.
In 2007 Koberlein took a position as an associate at Robinson, Kennon & Kendron. He spent several years there expanding his litigation experience and working on matters that intersected with local government and municipal concerns. In 2013 he opened Koberlein Law Offices, PLLC, where he serves as owner and principal attorney. Running his own firm shifted part of his day-to-day toward managing a practice as well as representing clients.
Koberlein holds a certification in city, county and local government law from the Florida Bar. That credential aligns with longstanding memberships in professional organizations tied to municipal practice. He has been a member of the Florida Municipal Lawyers Association since 2006 and belongs to the Florida Bar’s City, County and Local Government Law Section, also since 2006. He has maintained ties to criminal defense circles as well, holding membership in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and its Third Judicial Circuit chapter since 2004. He is also a member of the Third Judicial Circuit Bar Association.
His professional involvement includes participation in the James C. Adkins, Jr. American Inn of Court, where he has served as a barrister since 2003. That affiliation reflects an interest in continuing legal education and collegial exchanges between judges, experienced practitioners and newer lawyers.
Koberlein works in Florida and conducts practice through his firm, Koberlein Law Offices, PLLC. His practice centers on issues arising in municipal law and in criminal defense matters.
