About Ashley

Ashley Grimes earned her B.A. in Communication and Political Science from Arizona State University in 2009. She went on to receive her J.D. from Arizona Summit Law School in 2013. Those years set the architecture for a career that moves between law and communication. Her academic training included practical legal education at a school known for clinic work and practice-based learning.

Before law school, Grimes worked in roles outside traditional law practice. She was a specialist at Crisis Nursery in 2003. In 2006 she worked as a web producer as an independent contractor for Google. Those early jobs exposed her to problem solving in nonprofit and technology settings. They also gave her experience producing content and managing online projects.

Her legal training was hands-on. In 2012 she served as a legal clinician at Arizona Summit Law School. During 2013 she took several roles that placed her inside law offices and corporate environments: a legal extern at Taylor and Associates, a law clerk at Inter123 Corp., and freelance writing for Yahoo Voices. Those positions overlapped with her final year of law school and allowed her to test legal research, client interaction, and written advocacy in real-world settings.

After passing the bar, Grimes established a private practice. In 2014 she began working as a lawyer in Grimes Law PLLC. She is licensed by the Supreme Court of Arizona and holds a mediation certification from Arizona Summit Law School. Those credentials reflect both courtroom preparation and alternative dispute resolution training.

Colleagues describe Grimes as someone whose background in communication informs her approach to legal work. Her time as a writer and web producer has carried over into client communications and drafting. The clinical and clerkship work during law school contributed to her familiarity with case preparation and procedural work. She has maintained a practice that operates within Arizona and engages with the state’s legal processes.

Grimes balances litigation-related tasks with mediated resolution methods, using her mediation training when matters are appropriate for that process. She handles client matters in Arizona and offers mediation services as part of her practice.
