About Arthur E.
Arthur E. Snead began his legal path after earning a B.B.A. in finance from Augusta State University in 2007 and completing his J.D. at Mississippi College School of Law in 2012. He combined classroom study with hands-on roles during law school, serving as a teaching assistant and working as a legal intern in the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office in 2011. Those early assignments exposed him to procedural work and public-sector practice before he took the bar and entered active practice in Georgia.
After law school he moved into public defense. In 2013 he joined the Office of the Public Defender for the Augusta Judicial Circuit as an assistant public defender. That role placed him in court regularly and involved client interviews, motions practice, and courtroom appearances. The work provided trial experience and a steady stream of contested matters.
He left public defense to enter private practice as an associate in 2015 at the Law Office of Bryan S. Hawkins, LLC. There he handled a range of civil and injury matters while building a litigation skill set distinct from his criminal defense background. Two years later he founded his own office. In 2017 he opened The Law Office of Arthur E. Snead, LLC and has served as its managing attorney since then.
Professional memberships track the arc of his practice interests. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2012 and joined the Workers’ Compensation Section in 2015. He became involved in groups oriented to plaintiff and trial work in 2017, joining the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and Georgia Injured Workers’ Advocates, and he added membership in the State Bar of Georgia Tort & Insurance Practice Section in 2018. He is also a member of the DeKalb County Bar Association. He held a brief period of membership in the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers from 2016 to 2018, reflecting his years in public defense.
Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who has moved through public sector and private practice roles into firm leadership. He manages the administrative duties of his office while maintaining a caseload. He also continues to draw on trial experience developed early in his career.
He currently practices at The Law Office of Arthur E. Snead, LLC. His current practice centers on workers’ compensation, personal injury, and defense matters.
