About Armando M.
Armando M. Guerra earned his law degree at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law. He began law school in 2007 and received his J.D. in 2010. The law program in Houston provided the foundation for his practice in Texas courts.
Before he entered law school, Guerra worked as an IT and computer technician. That early technical work gave him practical problem-solving skills and a familiarity with systems that can matter in modern litigation and case management. He moved from technology into law, returning to the Rio Grande Valley after graduation.
He opened Armando M. Guerra & Associates, PLLC in 2010 and has served as the firm’s lawyer and owner since that year. The firm has become the vehicle for his legal work, a place where he combines courtroom experience with dispute resolution. In 2019 he took on a public role as an associate municipal judge in Edinburg, handling local court matters and gaining experience on the bench.
Guerra added formal dispute-resolution credentials in 2016 when he became a certified mediator and a certified family law mediator through his firm. Those certifications expanded the options he offers clients beyond litigation. He is admitted to practice in Texas and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, McAllen Division. The combination of state and federal admissions, judicial experience and mediation training shapes how he approaches cases.
His background blends courtroom work, mediation and municipal judging. He draws on that mix when preparing a case or guiding parties toward settlement. The firm continues to operate from the Rio Grande Valley, handling a range of matters that clients bring to them. He currently focuses his practice on mediation and family law matters at Armando M. Guerra & Associates, PLLC.
