About Anthony John
Anthony John Leonard built his legal foundation at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He continued his studies at Widener University Delaware School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor before entering practice in the mid-Atlantic. His academic record provided a steady base for courtroom work and civil litigation.
He began his professional life working alongside established firms, including Reilly, McDevitt, Henrich, P.C. Those early years introduced him to the practical rhythms of trial preparation, depositions and courtroom procedure. He later practiced at Leonard, Sciolla, Hutchison, Leonard, Tinari, where he took on more complex civil matters and learned to manage cases from intake through verdict.
Licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, he maintains active memberships in the Pennsylvania State Bar and the State Bar of New Jersey. The Supreme Court of New Jersey has certified him as a Civil Trial Lawyer, a designation that recognizes his qualifications to conduct civil jury trials in that state. He also belongs to local bar groups, including the Burlington County and Camden County bar associations, and participates in professional organizations such as the Justinian Society and the New Jersey Association for Justice.
His practice centers on civil trial work. He handles litigation matters that take him into state courts across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In the courtroom he works through witness preparation, evidentiary issues and jury presentation. Outside the courtroom he oversees case strategy, discovery disputes and settlement negotiations. He balances trial work with pretrial motion practice and client counseling, adapting tactics to the needs of each case rather than following a single formula.
Anthony J Leonard now practices through the Law Offices of Anthony J Leonard, LLC. He operates from that office while representing clients in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania courts. The firm handles civil litigation and trial representation, drawing on his New Jersey Civil Trial Lawyer certification and his experience in regional practice. His current practice focuses on serving clients in civil trial matters across the two states.
