About Annie
Annie Myers built a legal path that began in classrooms and community centers. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in jurisprudence from the University of Baltimore in 2009, then completed a Master of Arts in criminal justice at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2012. She finished law school at the University of Baltimore School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2017.
Her earliest professional work put her close to survivors and community services. In 2007 she worked as a domestic violence civil advocate at the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. That role placed her in intake rooms, court lobbies, and safety planning meetings. She handled the everyday business of helping people access protective orders and navigate civil remedies.
In 2012 Myers moved into a government role as a victim/witness specialist in the Anne Arundel County Office of the State’s Attorney. There she assisted prosecutors and supported people participating in criminal proceedings. The work required attention to detail and steady communication. She spent time preparing witnesses for trial, coordinating with law enforcement, and helping victims understand their rights in court.
After law school, Myers entered private practice. She joined Cochran & Chhabra, LLC as an associate in 2019. At the firm she has combined courtroom exposure with client counseling. Her background in advocacy and in the county prosecutor’s office informs how she approaches cases. She knows how victims and witnesses experience the justice system, and she brings that perspective to disputes that begin in civil court or touch on family safety matters.
Colleagues describe her as pragmatic and thorough. She tends to break complex issues into steps clients can understand. The work can be technical, but she aims to keep conversations plain and concrete. She also draws on earlier nonprofit experience when a case raises safety planning or community resource questions.
Outside client work, Myers has remained connected to the communities she served early in her career. That connection shows in the kind of files she takes and how she prepares a case for court. She is comfortable in hearings and in negotiation settings, and she pays close attention to procedural detail.
As of 2026, she continues to practice at Cochran & Chhabra, LLC. Her practice addresses matters that intersect with victim services, domestic relations, and related civil proceedings.
