About Anne M

Anne M Rice built a legal path that moves from two strong academic institutions into a steady trial practice. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988, studying through both the College of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton Business School. She returned to school for her law degree, receiving a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1997.

Those academic credentials led to admission in New Hampshire and authorization to appear before the First Circuit. Rice has spent her career working in and around trial work and employment law. She is a member of organizations that reflect those interests: the American Trial Lawyers Association, the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association, and the Belknap County Bar Association. She also belongs to the National Employment Lawyers Association and participates in the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section.

Rice’s colleagues describe her as pragmatic in the courtroom and methodical in preparation. She approaches cases one step at a time, sorting facts and testimony before assembling a theory that can be presented clearly to judges and juries. That style has informed how she handles both individual employment disputes and broader litigation matters.

Her practice has covered typical issues that arise in workplace disputes, including claims related to wrongful termination, discrimination, wage disputes, and related contractual issues. She has represented clients in hearings and trials, and she has handled appeals when matters moved beyond the trial court. Rice files and argues motions, prepares witnesses, and works through discovery to build the record her clients need.

Outside of court calendars, Rice invests time in professional associations that keep lawyers current on changes in employment law and trial practice. Her membership in the New Hampshire Bar Association’s labor and employment section gives her access to seminars and committee discussions that inform day-to-day client work. The state and local trial lawyer groups provide a forum for trial technique and case strategy conversations.

Rice practices from the Rice Law Office. She maintains an active role in litigation and employment matters in New Hampshire and in matters that require admission before the First Circuit. She currently practices at Rice Law Office, where she handles employment and trial matters.
