About Ann

Ann Fitz earned her law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 2003. She completed her undergraduate studies at Furman University in 1999, where she double-majored in English and Communications. Those academic foundations shaped her approach to legal writing and courtroom presentation.

She built a practice that reaches beyond a single state. Fitz is admitted in Georgia and South Carolina and holds admissions in several other state bars, including Florida, Ohio, California and New York. Her federal admissions include the U.S. Supreme Court and multiple circuit courts of appeal: the 4th, 9th and 11th Circuits. Those credentials have allowed her to take cases into diverse federal forums.

Her early years after law school involved courtroom work and motions practice, an experience that informed later appellate handling. Over time she handled trials, post-trial motions and briefs at the appellate level. The combination of trial and appellate exposure gives her a practical sense of how trial records are read on appeal.

Fitz has also worked on matters that required coordination across jurisdictions. Appearing in state courts in several states and in federal appellate courts requires attention to procedural differences and filing rules. She is comfortable preparing appellate briefs, arguing in panels and managing filings at the federal level. Her writing background from Furman is evident in how she frames legal issues on the page.

She now practices from the Law Office of Ann Fitz, where she serves as principal. The office handles matters that reach both trial and appellate stages and engages in work that often crosses state lines. Running a small practice has meant taking on case management, client counseling and the logistical tasks that come with multistate litigation.

Colleagues and clients describe her work as straightforward and rooted in careful preparation rather than in rhetoric. She prefers clear briefs and focused oral argument. Her current practice handles appellate work and federal litigation across the jurisdictions in which she is admitted, including matters filed in state courts in Georgia and South Carolina and appeals in several federal circuits.
