About Andrew R

Andrew R Lynch earned his J.D. in 2005 from Georgia State University College of Law. He completed his legal education as the mid-2000s produced a steady stream of lawyers entering public service and private practice. The law school years set the stage for work in Georgia’s criminal courts.

He moved into public defense early in his career. In 2007 he served as an Assistant Public Defender in the DeKalb County Public Defender’s Office. That role placed him on the front lines of trial and pretrial advocacy, representing people charged in state court and handling the daily pressures that come with an overloaded docket.

After his time in the public defender’s office, he established and now operates the Law office of Andrew R. Lynch. He has handled direct client representation from intake through disposition. Running a smaller practice has required shifting between casework, client counseling, and courtroom appearances. It also means he oversees the practical, everyday aspects of running a law office.

Outside of his practice, Lynch has maintained an active presence in the state’s criminal defense community. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Educational Committee of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. That long-term involvement ties him to continuing legal education efforts among defense attorneys across Georgia.

His work centers on criminal defense in Georgia courts. He represents individuals in matters that arise at the state level and appears before judges in county and superior courts. Litigation, client interviews, plea negotiations and pretrial motions are regular parts of his caseload. He brings courtroom experience gained in public defense into private practice, applying those skills on behalf of private clients.

Colleagues and clients have encountered him most often in state criminal matters. He is licensed to practice in Georgia and has built a practice grounded in the procedural realities of the state system. He continues to accept and manage cases through his law office, handling the sort of criminal defense work commonly seen in Georgia courts. His current practice focuses on criminal defense in Georgia.
