About Andrew P.
Andrew P. Connors took a straight path into law after a beginning in applied mathematics. He earned an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics from the University of Virginia and later completed a J.D. at Liberty University School of Law. Those academic foundations shaped a career that has mixed courtroom work, appellate practice and law school clinical instruction.
His first post-law-school job was a judicial law clerk role at the Court of Appeals of Virginia in 2010. The clerkship put him inside the appellate process and gave early exposure to legal research and opinion drafting. He entered private practice a few years later as a lawyer at The Creekmore Law Office P.C. in 2012. In 2016 he became a partner at Connors and Brenke PLLC, and in 2020 he moved on to serve as principal of Darkhorse Lawyers.
Connors holds active membership in the Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is also admitted in several federal trial courts, including the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the Southern District of Texas, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. That mix of trial and appellate admissions reflects steady courtroom activity at multiple levels.
Alongside litigation, Connors has been involved in legal education and training. He has held the role of Law School Clinical Director in connection with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The position linked his practice to intellectual property training and gave students hands-on experience in patent and trademark matters under supervisory guidance.
Professional associations have been a consistent part of Connors’s career. He serves as a barrister in the Ted Dalton American Inns of Court, a role he has held since 2019. He has been active in the Virginia State Bar Litigation Section, serving on its Board of Governors and as Newsletter Editor from 2020 to 2023. Earlier, he was vice president of the Montgomery-Radford Bar Association from 2016 to 2018.
Over the years Connors has handled trial court work and appeals across state and federal forums. He is known within his circles for methodical preparation and a preference for written advocacy. He currently practices at Darkhorse Lawyers, where his work centers on civil litigation, appellate matters, and intellectual property.
