About Andrew M.

Andrew M. Harvey earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law before entering practice in Maryland. His legal education provided classroom and clinic experience that prepared him for the demands of day-to-day lawyering. He completed the degree and moved into professional practice in the state where he is licensed.

He is admitted to practice in Maryland. That admission has formed the foundation for a career spent working on matters that arise under state law. Over time he built practical experience in legal research, drafting, and advocacy that supports his work for clients.

Harvey serves as a lawyer at Silverman Thompson. At the firm he takes on responsibilities common to litigation and client representation, including preparing pleadings, conducting factual and legal research, and participating in hearings and conferences. He works among colleagues on cases and matters the firm accepts, contributing to case strategy and case management when appropriate.

Colleagues and clients encounter a lawyer who attends to both the written and oral aspects of practice. He handles document preparation and analysis, and appears before tribunals and administrative bodies when matters require it. His day-to-day tasks combine courtroom work, client counseling, and the routine legal work that keeps matters moving.

Outside the immediate work of a file, Harvey participates in the collaborative environment of a law firm. That collaboration includes coordinating with other attorneys, briefing support staff, and engaging outside experts as necessary. He also navigates procedural and evidentiary questions that arise in contested matters, applying the rules that govern practice in Maryland.

Over the course of his practice at Silverman Thompson he has contributed to the firm’s handling of a range of client matters. He balances written advocacy with oral argument and client-facing responsibilities. His approach to cases is practical and grounded in the procedural and substantive law that frames each matter.

He currently practices at Silverman Thompson, representing clients in the types of matters the firm handles.
