About Andrew
Andrew Harris studied history at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning a B.A. in 1996. He went on to law school at Loyola University Chicago, where he received his J.D. in 2002. Those academic years shaped a lawyer comfortable with both detail and context. Those are qualities that show up in his work today.
He was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2005 and to the Oregon bar in 2007. He maintains active memberships in both the Illinois State Bar and the Oregon State Bar. That dual licensure has allowed him to advise clients whose interests cross state lines.
After law school Harris built a practice that centers on business and corporate matters. Early on he took on transactional work and counsel projects for privately held companies. Over time he added regulatory matters and contract drafting to his repertoire. He has experience shepherding deals from negotiation through closing and handling the legal housekeeping that follows.
Harris’s work is practical. He advises on corporate governance, prepares and negotiates commercial agreements, and works on acquisitions and restructurings. He represents small and mid-sized firms as well as individual business owners. He often serves as outside general counsel, helping businesses manage ongoing legal needs without an in-house team.
He joined Northwest Corporate Law LLC, where he continues to practice. Colleagues describe him as methodical and clear in his communications. Clients value straightforward advice that identifies choices and consequences. He takes time to explain options and timelines, which helps business leaders make informed decisions.
Outside the office Harris’s background in history shows in the way he reads documents and traces developments over time. He still draws on research skills he developed as an undergraduate and law student. Today he focuses on advising companies on transactional and governance matters at Northwest Corporate Law LLC.
