Andrew Burkavage built a legal path that began in the Midwest and moved quickly into practice. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2006 and completed his law degree at Loyola University New Orleans in 2012. At Notre Dame he studied liberal arts disciplines that many law students find useful—analysis, writing and argument. Loyola’s law program followed and provided the professional training he needed to step into practice. He graduated in 2012 and entered the legal workforce the same year.
His first recorded role was as an associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2012. That position put him inside a busy litigation environment early in his career. As an associate, he handled case preparation, client meetings and court filings. He learned the routines of litigation practice—drafting pleadings, managing discovery and preparing witnesses. The work there gave him hands-on experience in courtroom procedure and case management.
By 2021 he had taken a position at Coplan & Crane, Ltd., listed simply as a lawyer. The move marked a continuation of his practice in Illinois and an alignment with a firm that maintains regional offices and a steady docket. His role at Coplan & Crane has involved day-to-day representation of clients and collaboration with colleagues on complex files. He has worked on matters that require careful attention to deadlines, coordination with experts and clear communication with clients.
