About Andrea

Andrea Townsend built a legal career across Texas courts over more than two decades. She took a straight path into law after college and has moved steadily from county-level prosecutorial work into private practice.

Townsend completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Texas A&M University, College Station in 2000. She earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law the same year. Those academic years set the stage for immediate entry into courtroom work and public service.

Her early years in practice were spent in county and district attorney offices. In 2003 she joined the Grayson County Lawyer’s Office as an assistant county lawyer. The following year she worked as an assistant county and district lawyer for Ellis County. In 2007 she moved to the Denton County District Lawyer’s Office as an assistant district lawyer, and in 2009 she accepted a role with the Tarrant County District Lawyer’s Office, also as an assistant district lawyer. Those successive positions gave her repeated exposure to trial proceedings and the rhythms of state court litigation.

After a decade of public-sector work, Townsend transitioned into private practice. In 2015 she became a partner at Townsend, Gebhardt & Eppes, PLLC. As partner she has navigated responsibilities that come with running a law firm while continuing to appear in court. Her experience in multiple county and district offices informed how she approaches case management and courtroom strategy.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and direct in courtroom presentation. She has worked on matters that required coordination among prosecutors, defense counsel and court staff. Those interactions shaped her view of litigation as a process that relies on preparation, procedure and clear advocacy.

Townsend is licensed to practice in Texas and has spent her career handling matters in the state’s trial courts. Her practice draws on years of prosecutorial experience and on the procedural knowledge developed in county and district offices. She handles litigation tasks that arise in state court dockets and understands the local rules and expectations common to Texas jurisdictions.

She is currently a partner at Townsend, Gebhardt & Eppes, PLLC, where her practice centers on litigation and trial work in Texas state courts.
