About Andrea Leah
Andrea Leah Gellen built a steady career in regional civil litigation after completing her legal training in New York. She earned a B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2010, where she studied philosophy, psychology and history. She received her J.D. from Albany Law School in 2013 and entered practice soon after.
Her first position was as an associate at Shaw, Perelson, May & Lambert, LLP, beginning in 2013. She worked on litigation matters there before moving on in 2016 to McCabe & Mack LLP as an associate. In 2019 she joined Stenger, Roberts, Davis & Diamond, LLP, again in an associate role. Since 2020 she has been a member of Gellen Law PLLC, where she carries a mix of trial and counseling responsibilities.
Gellen is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey. She holds placement on the Part 36 List of the New York State Unified Court System, a roster that can relate to settlement offers and court procedures in civil cases. That procedural credential complements her courtroom work and the litigation roles she has held across several firms.
Her professional associations are tied to the Hudson Valley and to New York’s broader bar community. She has been a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Dutchess County Bar Association since 2013. She joined the Mid-Hudson Women’s Bar Association and the Hudson Valley Young Professionals Association in 2016 and remains active in those organizations. Those memberships reflect a practice rooted in regional institutions and networks.
Colleagues and opposing counsel describe her approach as straightforward and practical. She has moved through several midsize firms over the first decade of her career, gaining exposure to different caseloads and courtroom settings. That progression led to her current role at Gellen Law PLLC, where she manages cases from intake through trial when necessary.
Her work spans civil litigation and related areas that commonly intersect with employment and family law issues. She represents individual and business clients in contested matters and runs client consultations, draft pleadings, and court appearances. She continues to practice through Gellen Law PLLC and represents clients in civil litigation, employment and family law matters.
