About Amanda

Amanda DeFede followed a steady academic path into the law. She earned a Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University in 1997 and later took her legal training at the University of Georgia School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2004. Those years shaped her understanding of legal research, courtroom procedure and client counseling.

After law school she moved into private practice and over time helped establish her own firm. She is a founding partner of McIntyre DeFede Law PLLC, where she has taken on both casework and the responsibilities of running a small firm. That combination of litigation and practice management has defined her professional life.

Colleagues describe her work as practical and direct. She handles client matters from intake through resolution, preparing filings, negotiating settlements and appearing in hearings when necessary. Her practice is rooted in the everyday demands of representing people and businesses under Virginia law, and she adapts her approach to the needs of each case and client.

Her experience at a boutique firm has required wearing many hats. She supervises case strategy and client communication. She also oversees administrative tasks that keep the firm functioning. Those duties give her a full view of how legal matters move from initial questions to final outcomes.

Outside the office she has maintained ties to the legal community in Virginia. She stays current on local court rules and developments that affect clients in her jurisdiction. That attention to procedure and timing informs how she prepares a matter for filing or for a hearing.

She currently practices at McIntyre DeFede Law PLLC and represents clients in Virginia.
