About Amanda
Amanda Burton built her legal foundation at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2003 and returned to the same campus for her law degree, receiving a J.D. in 2006. Those years shaped her path into practice in Illinois.
Her early post-graduate work put her inside public interest law. In 2008 she worked as a senior law clerk at the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. The position exposed her to client-centered representation and the daily demands of legal aid work.
Two years later she joined Dixon & Giesen Law Offices as a lawyer. That role expanded her courtroom and client-practice experience. It also marked her shift from clerkship and non-profit work into private practice and litigation support.
Burton later helped found and now leads Burton & Vick, LLC as managing partner. In that role she handles firm management while also carrying a caseload. Her responsibilities include oversight of case development and day-to-day decisions that shape the firm’s work.
She maintains membership in the Illinois bar and holds a Guardian ad Litem certification through the Illinois State Bar Association. That certification authorizes her to represent the interests of children and other parties in guardianship and dependency matters when appointed by courts.
Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She weighs procedural realities against client goals and seeks practical solutions. Her background spans legal aid, private firm work, and firm leadership. That trajectory gives her a range of perspectives on how clients experience the legal system.
Burton lives and practices in Illinois and manages the affairs of Burton & Vick, LLC. Her current practice centers on providing legal representation to clients through Burton & Vick, LLC.
