About Andrew T.
Andrew T. Flynn began his academic life in journalism and public relations before turning to the law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a specialization in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma in 2008. He then completed his legal studies at Southern Illinois University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2011.
While still in law school, Flynn took on a series of clerkships that put him in courtrooms and clinics early in his career. In 2009 he worked at the SIU School of Law Legal Clinic and at the Union County, Illinois State's Lawyer's Office. Those roles exposed him to client interviewing, case preparation and the day-to-day demands of practice. After graduation he served as a law clerk to Glenn R. Tetzlaff and then joined Glenn R. Tetzlaff & Associates as an associate lawyer in 2011.
Flynn moved into private practice soon after. In 2014 he was listed as Lawyer/Owner of Tetzlaff, Flynn & Associates, P.C., a role that placed him on the business side of running a small firm as well as on the legal side. That experience included managing files, counseling clients and coordinating litigation and transactional work. In 2017 he took a position as an associate lawyer at Lawler Brown Law Office, where he remains on staff.
Colleagues and clients have noted that his journalism background shapes his approach to legal work. He tends to emphasize clarity in written pleadings and directness in client communications. The training in public relations also influenced how he prepares for hearings and presents factual narratives to judges. Flynn's path through clerkships, a solo-owner practice and then an associate role has given him time on both sides of the client-attorney relationship.
Outside of case work, Flynn's record shows steady engagement with firm responsibilities. He has moved through several roles that required both hands-on legal work and administrative oversight. That mixture of experience has informed how he allocates time between litigation tasks, client counseling and file management.
He practices law in Illinois and is an associate at Lawler Brown Law Office, where he handles a range of matters on behalf of clients in the state.
