About Alyssa
Alyssa Oubre earned her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in 2018 after completing a B.S. in Legal Studies at Bellevue University in 2015 and an A.A. at Orange Coast College in 2005. Before law school she completed a paralegal certificate at UC Irvine. Her path into the law began early and includes both academic and hands-on legal training.
Her résumé shows steady progression from support roles into courtroom work. She began in municipal court administration in 2005 and moved into legal assistant and paralegal positions over the next decade, including roles at the Law Office of the Mohave County Public Defender and Legal Aid Administration. By 2016 she was serving as a law clerk for private firms and for Broadband Legal Strategies and Palmer Law Group. In 2017 she worked in the litigation department at the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, gaining experience in regulatory and administrative matters. While in law school she held a Rule 719 permit and served as a legal intern at the Washburn Law Clinic’s Children & Family Law Center in 2018.
After earning her degree she transitioned to the role of lawyer. In 2019 she worked at the Law Offices of Heather C. Wellborn and later joined the Law Offices of Kevin Jensen in 2022. Those positions built on her earlier paralegal and clerk experience and expanded her courtroom and client-facing work.
Oubre is admitted to practice before the Arizona Supreme Court and is authorized in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. She holds board responsibilities in her local legal community, serving on the Mohave County Bar Association Board of Directors. She also sits on the board of the CASA Council Helping Children of Mohave County and is involved as a foster parent through Human Resource Training, Inc. She is a member of the Arizona Women Lawyers Association.
Her background spans family law, public defense support, regulatory litigation, and legal services organizations. The early work in public defense and legal aid informed her view of client advocacy. The clinic work at Washburn provided specific experience in child- and family-centered legal matters.
Oubre now practices at Genesis Family Law and Divorce Lawyers. She handles divorce proceedings, child custody and parenting time disputes, and related family law matters. Her practice combines courtroom experience, administrative law exposure, and nonprofit involvement in children’s services.
