About Allison Zeger
Allison Zeger Schackel built her legal foundation at Washington & Lee. She completed a B.A. there in 2009 and returned to the university for law school, earning her J.D. in 2013. Those years shaped how she approaches problems: methodically, and with attention to detail.
After law school, Schackel took the path many young attorneys take—she moved into practice and focused on gaining courtroom and client experience. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. Over the years she has worked on matters that required careful legal research and steady advocacy. Colleagues describe her as precise in drafting and direct in oral argument.
Her time at Washington & Lee left a mark. The curriculum emphasized written advocacy and classroom dialogue. Schackel carried those habits into practice. She is known among peers for concise memos and clear explanations for clients. Those skills have served her well when cases require detailed factual development and careful legal analysis.
Schackel joined Brown Sims, P.C., where she continues her legal work. At the firm she takes on assignments that call for attentive client communication and practical problem-solving. She handles the everyday tasks of litigation and client counseling, from preparing filings to meeting with clients about strategy. Her approach is straightforward: assess the facts, present options, and pursue the route that best matches the client’s objectives.
Outside of casework, Schackel has remained engaged with legal community resources and continuing education. She attends seminars and workshops that keep her up to date on changes in local practice and procedural rules. Those efforts help ensure that her clients receive advice informed by current practice rather than only by past experience.
Peers and clients have noted her ability to explain complex issues in plain language. That strength matters in client meetings, where clarity can narrow disputes and avoid unnecessary escalation. Schackel applies the same clarity to motion practice and to oral argument when cases reach court.
She practices in the District of Columbia and is a member of the bar there. Her work at Brown Sims, P.C. centers on representing clients in matters arising under District of Columbia law.
