About Allexis M

Allexis M Spencer earned her law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2022 after completing undergraduate studies in criminology at Kent State University in 2020. She moved from an academic interest in criminal behavior into legal training during a period when courts and community organizations were confronting complex public safety and justice questions. The sequence of degrees set a practical foundation for courtroom work and client counseling.

After law school, Spencer took steps to be licensed in multiple Midwestern jurisdictions. She is admitted to practice in Ohio and Michigan. Since credentialing, she has joined local bar associations and registered with state law offices that monitor and support attorneys. Those moves helped her build a professional network across municipal and county lines.

Spencer’s early professional affiliations began in 2023. She is listed with the Supreme Court of Ohio Office of Lawyer Services and holds memberships in the Toledo Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association. That year also marked a period of settling into a firm practice environment where she could apply the skills she developed in law school and during internships.

Her approach to cases combines a background in criminology with the routine tasks of legal practice: research, drafting, case preparation and client consultation. She has navigated motions and hearings and participated in negotiations. Colleagues describe her work style as procedural and thorough. She keeps to court calendars and filing deadlines and prioritizes clear communication with clients and opposing counsel.

Spencer works at Churchill, Smith, Gonzalez & Kuhn L.L.P. There she handles matters arising under the laws of Ohio and Michigan and coordinates filings in the appropriate tribunals. Her position at the firm places her in a team environment where associates and partners share case responsibilities and supervise trial preparation steps. She often collaborates on discovery and motion practice, and she contributes to strategy sessions that shape case trajectories.

Outside the office she remains engaged with county and regional bar activities. She attends association meetings and participates in professional development offerings through the Supreme Court office. Those involvements help her stay current on procedural changes and court rules that affect daily practice.

She currently practices at Churchill, Smith, Gonzalez & Kuhn L.L.P., handling matters in Ohio and Michigan.
