About Alexander
Alexander Francuzenko studied at the University of Richmond before earning his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law. His legal education combined classroom work and practical training that laid the groundwork for a career spanning state and federal courts. He moved into practice prepared to handle litigation and appellate work across several jurisdictions.
He helped found Cook Craig & Francuzenko, PLLC in 2012 and has served as a founding partner since that year. Building a firm from the ground up has meant wearing many hats. He has taken on trial preparation, courtroom appearances and the managerial work that keeps a small firm running. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in approach and direct in court, preferring clear argument to ornament.
Francuzenko is admitted in a broad set of courts. His admissions include the District of Columbia and its Superior Court and Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Virginia and the courts of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted in multiple federal venues: the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western and general Districts of Virginia, the U.S. District Court of Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the Fourth Circuit. He holds admission to the U.S. Supreme Court as well. That mix of trial and appellate admissions allows him to handle matters that move between state and federal systems.
Outside of courtrooms, Francuzenko participates in bar and professional organizations. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the Maryland Bar. He also holds memberships in the Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia Association of Defense Lawyers. Those memberships provide ongoing access to professional education and networking in the mid-Atlantic legal community.
His career so far has been rooted in a firm practice model. As a partner at Cook Craig & Francuzenko, PLLC he shares responsibility for case strategy, client counsel and firm management. The firm lists him as a principal voice in litigation matters, and he regularly appears in both trial and appellate courts where admitted. He prepares pleadings, argues motions and handles the procedural work that follows a matter from filing through resolution.
Colleagues and clients find him deliberate in courtroom settings and practical when advising on procedural choices. He balances litigation tasks with the administrative obligations of running a practiced office. He currently practices at Cook Craig & Francuzenko, PLLC, handling matters across the jurisdictions to which he is admitted.
